How can the Andhra Pradesh government go ahead with its capital construction works and foundation ceremony despite the 'National Green Tribunal' issuing an injunction calling for a halt to all activity?
The Tribunal says that environmental clearances have not been obtained by the AP government.
The response of the latter is: “How can the Tribunal stop the activities when Narendra Modi himself is the Chief Guest on October 22?”. This is absurd reasoning by the TDP.
The presence of Narendra Modi in no way exempts them from taking all necessary approvals and following guidelines in building a new capital for the Kammas.
The Prime Minister on the other hand should not grace the occasion with his presence until the Tribunal gives the go-ahead. That would be befitting his stature.
The Tribunal should immediately halt the AP government’s nefarious activities in the name of new capital. Otherwise what is the point in the existence of such toothless bodies?
