Desam MP Looking Towards YSRC?

The sudden outburst by Telugu Desam Party MP from Chittoor N Sivaprasad against party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday accusing the latter of cheating the Dalits has raised many eyebrows.

Naidu, who held a teleconference with the TDP leaders from Chittoor, enquired as to why Sivaprasad made such serious remarks.

The party leaders told him that Sivaprasad was not participating in the TDP activities for quite some time and was maintaining distance from the local party leaders for reasons known to him.

Minister N Amarnath Reddy told Naidu that Sivaprasad was angry with the government ever since the local administration rejected his recommendation for allotment of Hathiramji Mutt lands to some people he had recommended, as rules do not permit assignment of trust lands.

During a recent parking dispute in Tirupati involving his daughter, the local TDP leaders did not come to her support, while YSRC MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy came to her rescue.

“Perhaps, Sivaprasad is contemplating shifting loyalties to the YSRC,” the TDP leaders told Naidu.

Reacting angrily to the development, Naidu said he would take stern action against anybody who violated party discipline.

It was not proper on the part of Sivaprasad to sling mud at the government when it was doing so much for Dalit welfare, he opined.
