The latest story from TDP is that the Andhra Pradesh cabinet has decided to release funds to MLAs to help them discharge their duties in their individual constituencies.
Well, while the idea is to release funds to all MLAs in Andhra Pradesh, it appears as if it is a move to release funds to ‘certain’ MLAs.
According to stories in media, the idea is to allot Rs 2 crores for MLAs to take up developmental work in their constituencies. However, instead of setting up a fund and distributing equal amounts to all sitting MLAs in the Assembly, the TDP has decided to give funds to MLAs who ‘need’ the money.
So it is being said that non-TDP MLAs are unlikely to get any funds.
Unfortunately, this is the state of democracy in our country and Andhra Pradesh where goodies are doled out to party members at the cost of opposition.
