There has been fresh speculation in some TDP-allied media circles that Nara Lokesh may soon be made the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
According to this buzz, Pawan Kalyan has reportedly given his approval, while N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to move into national politics and possibly take up a Deputy Prime Minister role at the Centre.
However, when senior BJP leaders with strong connections in Delhi were asked about these reports, they dismissed the speculation.
Sources indicate that the BJP high command is not currently considering any such political arrangement.
According to these sources, “The BJP leadership has no issues with Chandrababu’s choice of leader to occupy the Chief Minister’s chair. TDP is in the majority in the state and can take its own decision. The BJP is not involved in this matter at all.”
At the same time, the source also said, “There is no provision or discussion about a Deputy Prime Minister position at the Centre, and the news about Chandrababu's name in consideration is a hoax.”
When asked whether Chandrababu Naidu could be considered for a Governor’s post in any state if not Deputy Prime Minister, the source clarified, “If there is any quota to offer a Governor’s position to the TDP, only then will the Centre approach Chandrababu Naidu. Until then, nothing will happen. The BJP will not create a governor position just for the sake of accommodating someone.”
