Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his senior colleagues in Andhra Pradesh have remained tight-lipped for now over the arrest of MLC G Deepak Reddy, nephew of Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy, in connection with the multi-crore land scam in Hyderabad, on Wednesday.
But surprisingly, the Telangana Telugu Desam Party leaders welcomed the arrest and said the arrest would bring cheers to those who lost their lands. However, they said Deepak Reddy was just a small fish and his involvement for just a tip of an iceberg in the scam.
“There are many more such fishes in the sea which need to be caught,” Telangana TDP president L Ramana said.
At the same time, Ramana alleged that land worth thousands of crores of rupees worth had been encroached upon by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s followers.
“Along with Deepak Reddy, all these land grabbers should be arrested and hand-cuffed as the police did with farmers who demanded remunerative price,” he demanded.
