Daggubati Says Jagan's Hardwork Will Pay Off

It has been a long time since one has heard about or seen Daggubati Venkateshwara Rao, a former minister and Telugu Desam Party founder N T Rama Rao’s elder son-in-law.

Though his wife Daggubati Purandeshwari is playing an active role in the Bharatiya Janata Party, he has been out of politics since 2014.

Yet, whenever he comes out, he does not lose an opportunity to take a dig at his co-brother, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

He has already written a couple of books exposing the conspiracy of Naidu in dethroning NTR and usurping the TDP and power.

On Wednesday, Daggubati addressed a press conference and lashed out at Naidu for his lopsided policies causing immense damage to the state.

“Naidu has taken up Amaravati as the new capital. There is nothing wrong in constructing a big capital, but at what cost? He has damaged thousands of acres that would yield three crops a year. Do we require such a big city?” he asked.

He was all praise for YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

“He has excelled as the Leader of the Opposition and is now trying to win the hearts of the people with his padayatra. Though his party is mobilising crowds for his meetings, the response he is getting is very good. The party has emerged as a strong force and it will definitely pay off,” Daggubati said.

He wondered why the Chandrababu Naidu government was struggling so much to complete the Polavaram project, when it was a national project and the execution had to be done by the Centre.

“The project is a definitely a boon for the state, if bifurcation was a curse,” he said.

However, he appreciated Pattiseema project, which was now able to provide water to Krishna delta.
