'Corruption War' Between Minister And MP!

'Corruption War' Between Minister And MP!

Normally politicians engage in 'cold war' or 'political war'. But two top TDP leaders in Andhra Pradesh are currently engaged in 'corruption war' which became a talk of the state.

Irrigation minister Deveneni Uma and Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh are exposing the corruption of each other in awarding contracts of irrigation projects for higher quotation by jacking up project cost estimates, causing huge embarrassment to TDP government.

Recently, Uma exposed the shady deal in Galeru project, wherein project estimate was raised from Rs 12 crore to Rs 110 crore, to benefit a company belonging to CM Ramesh, who is known to be close to AP CM N.Chandrababu Naidu.

Uma also found fault with Ramesh managing release of Rs 35 crore for the company without administrative approvals.

In retaliation to this, CM Ramesh exposed the corruption in Avuku tunnel contract and questioned why the contractor was being paid an additional Rs 44 crore giving indications that Uma received bribes from the contractor for doing this favour.

Ramesh shot off a letter to finance officials to inquire into this and stop payment of additional money to contractor.

Though both these top TDP leaders might trying to gain an upper hand over the other with these charges, but what they fail to notice is that they were exposing the large-scale corruption of TDP government in Andhra Pradesh in award of contracts before the world.
