Cong Says It Will Get Special Status To AP!

The Congress may have been battered and bruised in Andhra Pradesh after 2014 elections, but its leaders are still building castles in airs and making tall claims.

On Tuesday, taking part in “Matti Satyagraham” programme at Polavaram, APCC president N Raghuveera expressed confidence that the party will achieve the special category status to the State.

The BJP, which had made a loud demand when in Opposition totally forgot the issue after coming to power. "But the Congress will achieve it," he added.

The Congress leaders are planning a programme at Chandragiri of Chittoor, the home district of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

General secretaries of the APCC Gidugu Rudraraju and Janga Gowtham said here on Tuesday that besides APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, Parliament members KVP Ramachandra Rao and JD Seelam and party senior leaders Panabaka Laxmi and Sailajanath will attend the concluding ceremony.

The Congress took up the agitational programme in protest against the Centre's negligence of the State and demanding that special category status be accorded to Andhra Pradesh as was promised by the earlier UPA governemnt.
