Chintamaneni moves court against Jagan?

Former MLA and senior Telugu Desam Party leader from Denduluru constituency Chintamaneni Prabhakar is learnt to have filed a private petition in the Eluru court seeking protection from the attacks by the YSR Congress party leaders and the state government.

According to reports in a section of media, Chintamaneni is said to have alleged that the Jagan Mohan Reddy governments was harassing him by foisting false cases against him. 

Apart from chief minister Y S jagan Mohan Reddy, he made advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, former DGP Gautam Sawang, IPS officers Rahul Dev Sharma, Navjyoth Singh Grewal and Krishna Rao, besides four circle inspectors and three sub-inspectors.

Chintamaneni alleged that right from the day of coming to power in 2019, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government was foisting cases against him and harassing him.

He told the court that he had complained to Union home minister Amit Shah and Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan stating that he was facing threat to his life.

In a span of two years since 2019, the Jagan government had filed as many as 25 cases against him.

“Even when I took part in agitations on public issues and in the TDP programmes, the government foisted cases against me, as if I had committed major crimes,” he alleged.

He demanded that the court take appropriate action against the top leaders in the government and also the police officers for targeting him personally out of sheer vengeance.

Chintamaneni had been send to jail several cases, but he had come out on bail following the intervention of the high court.

Yet, the government was witch-hunting him, he alleged and told the court there was an attempt to kill him in fake encounter in the past.
