Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu does not want men to survive, but die of consuming liquor without any restrictions.
This was the allegation levelled by firebrand YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja. She said Naidu had scant regard for the Supreme Court direction which clearly said no bars and wine shops be allowed on the national highways.
“In order to step up excise revenue and make people drunkards, Naidu has denotified national highways and converted them into state highway,” she alleged.
Roja said there is a wine shop for every 50,000 population in Andhra Pradesh and the government wants only revenue and has no concern for the health of people.
“It is very clear that Naidu does not want men to survive, but to die by consuming liquor indiscriminately,” she said.
Roja also alleged that Naidu had no respect for women of any age, whether they were of six years or sixty years. Branding him as anti-women, she said crime against women had gone up after Naidu came to power.
“There would be protection to life of women only in Jagan regime,” she said.
She promised that if YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was voted to power, he would phase out liquor consumption and implement prohibition.
