The days of Telangana Telugu Desam Party working president and Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy in the party are numbered and he is all set to join the Congress party by first week of November.
However, there is still a lot of uncertainty over the admission of other TDP leaders, besides his followers, into the Congress party. Revanth is learnt to have submitted the list of at least 25 TDP leaders who would be joining the Congress but he wants party tickets to all of them in the next assembly elections.
The Congress high command might not entertain his demand, as it would antagonise the already existing ticket aspirants in the party.
At the most, it might accept his demand partially by assuring tickets to really serious and strong candidates. Others might assured other posts in due course.
The problem is that Revanth’s exit would cause a vertical split in the TDP as a large section of party leaders and cadre are supporting him.
They would also be willing to join the Congress, as they know they have no future in the TDP in Telangana once Revanth quits. But the Congress high command will find it difficult to give party posts or tickets to them.
