Buzz: Sharmila in Deep Disappointment

Buzz: Sharmila in Deep Disappointment

For reasons unknown, Andhra Pradesh Congress president Sharmila has been unusually silent for the past few days.

In the Pulivendula and Ontimitta ZPTC by-elections, where her party candidates Moyilla Shiva Kalyan Reddy and Poola Vijay Bhaskar are contesting, she has not appealed to voters for their support.

In fact, she was expected to campaign in these constituencies, but instead, she has distanced herself from the elections and politics altogether, sparking discussion in political circles.

Recently, Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi exposed alleged election malpractices at a press conference in Delhi.

While Telangana Congress streamed his media meet live on social media, the AP Congress showed no interest; a move that drew criticism.

This has fueled speculation that something is brewing against Sharmila within the AP Congress, with those close to her claiming she is deeply disappointed.

According to Congress leaders, Sharmila has been disheartened ever since a decision against her came in the matter of Saraswati Power Plant share transfers.

Even when her father YSR’s statue was recently demolished, she only responded by posting her protest on social media.

Now, despite the ongoing ZPTC by-elections in Pulivendula and Ontimitta, and her own party’s candidates in the fray, Sharmila’s apparent indifference has become a talking point.

The real reason behind her disengagement remains unclear.
