Maverick Telugu Desam Party MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy, who refused to apologise for his unruly behaviour with the Indigo Airlines staff at the Visakhapatnam airport a couple of days ago, told the party leadership that he would raise the issue in Lok Sabha and fight for his privileges and rights.
Sources, however, say it is not so easy for JC to raise the issue as he might not get the support from his own party MPs in the Lok Sabha, forget about the BJP and other NDA partners.
At the same time, the opposition parties, too, would not hesitate to shout him down and question his highhanded behaviour with the airlines staff.
And this is not the first time that he had done so. At the same time, the YSR Congress party MPs might also raise the issue of his alleged illegal transport business and the aggressive behaviour of his brother J C Prabhakar Reddy.
On the other hand, there is a growing demand from the rival parties for blacklisting of JC from the Parliament as well, in the wake of his highhanded behaviour.
“Reddy has turned up to be a serial offender. It is important that such elements are blacklisted not just by the airlines but by the speaker of the House. A message should be sent that this kind of behaviour from public representative is not acceptable,” Congress leader Tom Vadakkan said.
Echoing similar sentiments, Congress leader P L Punia dubbed Reddy’s behavior as wrong, while saying that he should not dent the image of other political leaders by doing such acts.
“He is known for his arrogant behaviour. He should act responsibly as he is an MP. He should not do such things which bring down the stature of other political leaders,” Punia said.
