BJP To Go Alone In AP For LS Seats?

BJP To Go Alone In AP For LS Seats?

If the reports coming from New Delhi are to be believed, the Bharatiya Janata Party is planning to contest all the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, confining the alliance with the Telugu Desam Party to just assembly elections.

Sources said the BJP wants to shift the focus on South India this time and win the maximum number of MP seats, so that it would bring the entire India under its control.

It does not want to restrict itself to the northern states, but to the south as well. Apparently, it has identified the seats where the BJP can win them in south and most of them are in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

“That is why, the BJP wants to test its strength alone by contesting all the MP seats in AP. As regards the alliance with the TDP, the party wants to continue it for the assembly seats, since it has no stakes in the state elections,” the sources said.

BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao also hinted that the BJP would concentrate on southern states.

“We have identified 130 weak constituencies in the country which would be strengthened by the 2019 elections. A majority of these seats are in south India. Apart from this, we will be grooming workers and leaders,” he stated.

Rao also said clusters comprising of five Lok Sabha constituencies would be formed and a top BJP leader would be made in-charge of each cluster.

He would be in-charge of the five Lok Sabha seats in North Andhra, he disclosed.

He said the Central Government schemes would be taken to the people to strengthen the party in south India and Andhra Pradesh.
