BJP changes tune, says Jagan wasted Modi time!

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, who defended YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 10 and welcomed his party’s support to the BJP candidate in Presidential elections, seem to have changed their tune again.

Senior BJP leader and MLA B Vishnukumar Raju on Tuesday accused Jagan of wasting the precious time of Modi by raising the issue of special category status for Andhra Pradesh.

“Special category status issue is a closed chapter and there is no point in Jagan talking about it. Instead, let Jagan renew his fight for Samaikyandhra again, instead of special category status,” Raju told media after the special assembly session.

He said the NDA government headed by Modi had given better financial advantage to the State in the form of a special package.

“The TDP government has welcomed the package because it will bring more advantages to the state than special category status. So, it is better Jagan understand it,” he said.

On the YSRC extending support to the BJP, Raju said his party would welcome support from anyone.

“Not just YSRC, many more parties are coming forward to extend support to Modi’s leadership,” he said.
