For their remarkable contributions in their chosen careers, Sachin Tendulkar and actress Rekha were honored by being nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 2012.
But apparently, the duo does not attach any importance to the activities that form part of the job description of a Member of Rajya Sabha.
According to a report released recently, Sachin has visited the ‘Upper House ‘of Parliament only three times so far. He hasn’t visited the House even once since the Modi government has taken over.
Rekha came up with a much better score than Sachin. She has graced the House with her ‘august’ presence seven times to date.
Are there not many unsung heroes in the country who are deserving of such an honor and who can do greater service to the nation if given such opportunities?
What is the point in wasting ‘golden opportunities’ on people like Sachin and Rekha? Neither of them speaks in Rajya Sabha on any of the problems being faced by people, the heavens would surely break open!
