Senior actor and Telugu Desam Party MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna might be the only successful heir of legendary actor N T Rama Rao in film industry, but is no match to his father either in acting or appearance or for that matter, histrionics.
This was proved clearly with two of Balakrishna’s films – Sri Rama Rajyam, a remake of NTR’s Lava Kusa and Pandurangadu, remake of NTR’s another film Panduranga Mahatyam.
In both the films, Balakrishna failed to recreate the magic of historic and epic roles played by NTR. He was no match to his great father in dialogue delivery or acting or appearance.
Naturally, when there are reports that Balakrishna would play the role of his father in the biopic on NTR to be made by maverick director Ram Gopal Varma, sceptics wondered whether Balakrishna would be able to do justice for the role.
“Though he is NTR’s son, he does not suit to the role of his father. He would only spoil NTR’s image,” they observed.
NTR's widow Nandamuri Lakshmi also felt that Balakrishna would not be able to do justice for the NTR’s role in the film.
She also expressed her reservations over showing the truth behind dethroning NTR, if Balakrishna is a part of the movie.
However, Balakrishna’s son-in-law and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh said that his uncle would be the best choice for the biopic of NTR.
He said the star cast had already been discussed and Balakrishna was willing to do the movie.
