The latest internal surveys conducted by various political parties proved beyond doubt that bagging GHMC Mayor seat would be a cakewalk for ruling TRS.
All the internal surveys showed that TRS could easily win 60 seats on its own out of total 150 seats. The MIM would get 40 seats.
Besides, there are 45 ex-officio members who comprise of City MLAs, MPs, MLCs etc, who were given voting rights in Mayor election. Of them, 25 belong to TRS.
The magic figure to win Mayor seat this time would be 106 and going by surveys, the TRS in combination with MIM would easily cross this magic figure to bag Mayor post.
Like Congress and MIM shared Mayor seat for three years and two years in 2009 GHMC election, the TRS and MIM share the Mayor post this time.
The surveys say Opposition TDP-BJP combine and Congress are only fighting a losing battle.
It is for this reason, KTR has been making repeated challenges of taking political sanyas if TRS fails to win Mayor seat.
