It appears that the BJP and the Jana Sena Party are causing trouble for TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu regarding their alliance ahead of the 2024 general election.
Initially, Naidu planned for an alliance with the BJP and the Jana Sena, believing it would benefit him in returning to power.
His goal was to keep the anti-government vote undivided, benefiting all three parties, with the TDP holding the majority.
He also believed that an alliance with the BJP would give him some leeway from the ruling YSR Congress in terms of distributing funds.
However, when he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi last month, the alliance plan turned out to be difficult to accept.
Sources suggest that Amit Shah requested 50 percent of both Assembly and Lok Sabha seats for the BJP and Jana Sena combined.
Shocked by this demand, Naidu remained silent about his alliance plans. Even the yellow media, which previously reported extensively on Naidu's conversation with the Prime Minister a few months ago, remained silent about his meeting with Shah.
After Shah's demand for a fifty percent seat share, Naidu has not mentioned the alliance at all.
Sources also indicate that Pawan Kalyan is also asking for 50 MLA seats if he were to leave the BJP and align with the TDP.
Naidu is certain that Pawan Kalyan wouldn't even find 50 suitable candidates, so he is not willing to part with such a large number of seats to the Jana Sena.
Therefore, the demands from the BJP and the Jana Sena have become a major headache for Naidu.
Sources suggest that Naidu is attempting to come to an agreement with the Jana Sena while leaving the BJP aside, offering them only a dozen MLA seats.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Jana Sena would break its alliance with the BJP for just a dozen seats from the TDP!
