YSRC MLA warns of agitation against government!

YSR Congress party MLA from Nellore rural assembly constituency Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy appeared to have turned a virtual rebel against the state government ruled by his own party.

Though he still continues to be a staunch loyalist of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Kotamreddy is not hiding his displeasure over the negligent attitude of the government officials in taking up development works in his constituency.

In July this year, Kotamreddy hit the headlines by sitting in a sewerage canal protesting against the officials for not resolving the drainage issues in Ummareddygunta area.

He was angry with the officials of Nellore Corporation and Railway authorities for not building the bridge despite repeated requests.

Kotamreddy alleged that the officials continue to neglect his constituency even after the YSRC came to power.

“Despite being a member of the ruling party, the authorities have shown little interest in the problem I have raised,” he criticised.

Even on Friday, the Nellore MLA openly expressed his displeasure over the government again for the neglect of his constituency.

He made serious comments against principal secretary (finance) S S Rawat and other officials right in the presence of state agriculture minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy.

Stating that not a single work has been completed in his constituency for the last four years, Kotamreddy warned of serious agitation against the government, if it did not take up the pending works in his constituency.

“Even in Jagananna Colonies, there has been a delay in the construction works,” he alleged.

It is an open secret that Kotamreddy has been feeling isolated in the party in Nellore with former minister P Anil Kumar Yadav and present minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy dominating the district politics.

Though Kotamreddy expected a cabinet berth, Jagan kept him at bay for his own reasons. There was a talk that he might shift loyalties to other parties, he denied the rumours.

But he continued to express his disgruntlement at the government and has been making critical comments against the officials.

He has also been not very active in the programmes like Gadapa Gadapaku Prabhutvam, leading to the talk that he might not get the YSRC ticket again in the next elections.
