Will Pawan rejuvenate Jana Sena at least now?

Will Pawan rejuvenate Jana Sena at least now?

The decision of Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan to conduct a huge public meeting at Visakhapatnam on August 30 has generated a lot of speculations in the political circles in the state.

It has been 15 months since the coalition government led by Telugu Desam Party was formed. So far, the other two alliance partners – Jana Sena Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party have not made any attempt to prove their identity and they appear to silently watching the TDP led by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu growing stronger and stronger.

While at the state level, there appears be perfect coordination between the TDP and the other two alliance partners, the situation is said to be different at the ground level, as Jana Sena Party leaders and cadre are sulking due to the hegemony of the TDP

Apparently, Pawan Kalyan, who has been maintaining a low profile in the government, has started reviewing the party position at the ground level, besides collecting detailed feedback on the government’s functioning.

He is preparing to take crucial decisions in line with the changing circumstances. In this context, there is growing anticipation over the decisions Pawan is expected to announce at the public meeting in Visakhapatnam on August 30.

Based on public feedback at the grassroots level regarding the performance of the coalition government, the deputy CM is gearing up to take key decisions.

Except for the party plenary after coming to power, Pawan Kalyan has not conducted major meetings related to party affairs. Now, he has shifted his focus to strengthening the party once again in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Pawan has repeatedly emphasized that the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh should continue for another 15 years.

However, Jana Sena leaders have expressed concerns in internal meetings that in constituencies represented by TDP MLAs, only the constituency in-charges from that party are being given importance.

Pawan, on his part, has made it clear that issues should be resolved amicably and that all parties should move forward unitedly.

Along with Andhra Pradesh, Pawan is finalizing new strategies for the party in Telangana as well. He is thus preparing to lay out the future direction of the party in both states.

Leaders and activists from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will participate in large numbers at the Vizag meeting.

Committees are being formed under the leadership of Visakhapatnam district MLAs to oversee the arrangements for the public meeting.

Extensive campaigning is being carried out to ensure participation from grassroots-level workers and women activists.
