Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who recently resigned from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), launched a sharp and unprecedented attack on former BRS MLA Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, considered to be one of the trusted loyalists of her father and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao.
She accused him of corruption, land grabbing and creating fear among Backward Class (BC) communities in Wanaparthy district.
She alleged that Niranjan Reddy had “inflicted severe damage on the party’s credibility” through his actions.
“He has made wild allegations against me and used unsavoury words against me. I warn him that if continued to lose his tongue, I shall break his head,” she warned.
She accused Niranjan Reddy of “creating terror among BC communities,” filing multiple false cases against them and subjecting several individuals to harassment.
According to her, at least 32 BC members had cases filed against them three separate times without justification.
Kavitha further claimed that Niranjan Reddy had constructed three farmhouses on lands that included assigned plots and even a Krishna river irrigation canal.
“How is the Congress government silent? Why is there no inquiry into these blatant violations?” she asked, asserting that such activities could not have occurred without the knowledge of influential leaders.
She also questioned whether KCR was aware of these alleged irregularities, and whether senior BRS leader T Harish Rao had shielded Niranjan Reddy.
“Even a child can understand the seriousness of these misdeeds,” Kavitha said.
Expressing displeasure over remarks made against her, she said she had maintained respect for Niranjan Reddy because of his age but could no longer remain silent.
Kavitha reiterated allegations that he had previously set fire to an MRO office and criticised KCR for not taking disciplinary action at the time.
“Calling himself ‘Neellu Niranjan Reddy’ is a joke. He hasn’t ensured irrigation for even one acre in the district. Simply connecting old canals and taking credit does not make him a water champion,” she said.
Kavitha also accused individuals linked to the MLA of attempting to encroach upon 32 acres of land in the popular Pebberu market area, allegedly with plans to sell them.
“At least spare temple lands from corruption,” she warned.
Claiming that land encroachments had become rampant in Wanaparthy and Pebberu under his influence, she urged political leaders not to protect those involved in illegal land dealings.
“If such people are encouraged, BRS will not survive in the district. People will defeat them with even larger margins,” she asserted.
Kavitha alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was not taking action because of Niranjan Reddy’s reported closeness to Harish Rao.
“How can Telangana progress if corruption is tolerated?” she asked, warning that she would not remain quiet if personal attacks continued.
She concluded by saying that those “living in glass houses should not throw stones” and cautioned that it was unjust to impose such leaders on the public.
“Don’t assume KCR is unaware of these misdeeds,” she added.
