Who Can Tell This To Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy?

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy built a strong image by linking YSRCP rule with welfare delivery.

His government introduced several schemes that benefited a wide section of the population. However, the 2024 election results suggest that welfare alone wasn’t enough to secure victory.

Many beneficiaries shifted their support when Chandrababu Naidu and the TDP alliance promised even better welfare programs.

This shift indicates that voters are not blindly loyal to parties based on past benefits—they are open to change if presented with more attractive options. Yet, Jagan and his team continue to focus solely on welfare.

Even now, YSRCP-aligned media outlets criticize the new government for delays in implementing schemes, while Naidu is announcing rollout plans in response.

If Naidu succeeds in delivering similar or better welfare programs before the next elections, what will YSRCP offer to win voters back?

Jagan appears stuck in a one-dimensional strategy. Governance and politics are about more than subsidies and handouts.

Issues like infrastructure, employment, industrial growth, and public service reforms also play a crucial role. Strangely, YSRCP has remained largely silent on these fronts—a silence that may have cost them public support in the recent elections.

If the party hopes to remain relevant, it must expand its vision and focus on comprehensive development, not just welfare.
