Viveka murder: CBI following CBN directions?

As the Central Bureau of Investigation authorities, probing the case of former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy’s murder, have been leaking the depositions of the witnesses to the media on a regular basis pointing out an accusing finger at Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy and his followers, the Telugu Desam Party leadership is making every attempt to capitalise on it.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh and several others have made it a point to attack YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy day in and day out, alleging that he was the mastermind behind the murder of his own uncle.

The leakage of the depositions by Viveka’s daughter, son-in-law and others who made wild allegations against Jagan and Avinash and the TDP leaders’ accusations have forced the YSRC to launch a counter attack against the CBI as well as the TDP.

Apart from encouraging the accused to file cases against the CBI officers, the YSRC leaders have started making strong statements against the investigating agency and also the TDP leadership for making wild allegations.

On Tuesday, YSRC MLA from Anakapalli Gudivada Amarnath made a sensational comment, accusing the CBI of joining hands with the TDP president in targeting the chief minister and his family members.

“Going by the leakage of information to the pro-TDP media houses, it is evident that the CBI has been acting at the directions of the CBN (Chandrababu Naidu) to defame the chief minister and the YSRC deliberately,” he alleged.

Accusing Naidu and his party leaders of being the real culprits in the Viveka murder case, Amarnath said if the CBI was sincere in unearthing the facts, it should also interrogate Chandrababu Naidu, B Tech Ravi, Adinarayana Reddy and Viveka’s son-in-law Rajasekhar Reddy.

“Only if they are subjected to intense grilling, the CBI can bring out the factual situation with regard to who had killed Viveka,” Amarnath said.

Stating that Naidu and Lokesh had no moral right to criticise Jagan and his family, the YSRC MLA demanded why Naidu had been concealing the information about his own brother Nara Rammurthy Naidu.

“There are reports that Rammurthy Naidu was branded as a mad person and was chained within his house, fearing that he would disclose the facts about Naidu’s secrets,” Amarnath alleged.
