Vijayashanti pays KTR in his own coin!

During the separate Telangana movement, when the Congress party was making promises to the people of Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K T Rama Rao used to quote a popular Telangana proverb: “Ammaku annam pettanodu, pinnammaku Bangaru gajulu cheyistadata..” (The person who cannot provide food to his own mother is promising to buy golden bangles to his aunt).

On Friday, former Congress leader and presently Bharatiya Janata Party leader M Vijayashanti shot back at the TRS leadership with the same slogan.

Reacting to KTR’s statement that he would take up the fight against privatisation of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Vijayashanti threw a satirical comment at him, recalling his own proverb.

“It is like a person who can’t take care of his own mother is promising to buy golden bangles for aunt,” she said.

Vijayashanti said KTR should recall what promises his party had made during the Telangana movement and what it had delivered after coming to power.

“During the movement, his father had promised to reopen Nizam Sugars Factory, Azam Jahi Mills, Allwyn and Praga Tools within 100 days of formation of Telangana. What happened to those promises?” she asked.

The BJP leader questioned why KTR was not making any reference to reopening of these companies and providing jobs to the unemployed youth.

“Now, for the sake of MLC elections, he is showering sympathy on Andhra people,” she said.

She recalled what kind of vulgar language KCR and KTR had used against Andhra people during the Telangana movement.

“They humiliated and ran the Andhra people down. How can anybody believe KTR’s love for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant workers?” Vijayashanti asked.
