Within hours of threatening to resign from the Congress party if Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy is made Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief, senior leader and former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao feared a threat to his life from Revanth.
VH came to Cyberabad police commissionerate in the evening and lodged a complaint with the police stating that he had received a telephone call from an unknown person who threatened to kill him, if he spoke against Revanth.
“Some unknown person called me and abused me in foul language. He threatened that he would kill me, if I make any statements against Revanth Reddy,” VH said in his complaint.
He requested that the police track the caller and take immediate action against the unknown miscreant. He also named Revanth Reddy in the complaint stating that he feared threat to his life from the latter.
VH has been strongly opposing the Congress high command’s decision to make Revanth Reddy as the PCC chief.
He has been demanding that the post be given to any BC leader, instead of Reddys. VH has been the front runner for the post.
