TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu always looks for a scapegoat to climb his ladder in politics. Surprisingly, he finds some weakest leader in the party or outside to sacrifice for his leadership or to fight. Thus he generates or rather tries to generate some sort of sympathy for him.
It was the woman, Lakshmi Parvathi, for Chandrababu Naidu to fight in 1995 and usurp the power and party from its founder N T Rama Rao.
He projected this woman as the strongest enemy for the party and the family as well and successfully disrobed the strongest leader like NTR.
In 2019 elections, Chandrababu Naidu projected Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his rival. Modi and his party are not present in the State and are not known in the remote areas of the state.
By projecting the non-existent or weakest people as his rivals, Chandrababu Naidu wages strongest battle. He wins some times and loses some times as the battle is built on the illusion.
There are times when he finds some scapegoats for his political careers. It was Dr Daggubati Venkateswara Rao in the early days of Naidu in TDP, who was used in usurping power from NTR and later dropped in the dustbin.
Then comes leaders like G M C Balayogi, K Pratibha Bharati, Motkupalli Narasimhulu, J R Pushparaj, to name a few.
Now, the latest sacrificial goat he found in the party is its general secretary Varla Ramaiah, a Dalit leader and a former police officer. The TDP chief had fielded Ramaiah as the party candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections.
Chandrababu Naidu or for that matter, anyone in politics, is aware of the fact that the TDP would require 44 MLAs to win the Rajya Sabha seat. The TDP has 23 MLAs and two of them have already differed from his party leaving just 21.
The number of MLAs is enough for him to field a candidate but not to win. However, knowing this mathematics well, Chandrababu Naidu found a sacrificial goat in Varla Ramaiah.
What Chandrababu Naidu wants to cry before the people is that he fielded a Dalit while Jagan Mohan Reddy did not give single seat to the Dalits in the Rajya Sabha elections.
If Ramaiah is defeated, Naidu plans to go to the people crying foul of Jagan defeating a Dalit and if Ramaiah wins, he takes the pride of his master degree in politics.
As he plays the double-edged game in politics, Varla Ramaiah ends up being a sacrificial goat in the State politics.
