TDP trying hard to retain Vangaveeti Radha

Following reports that former MLA and Kapu leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna is contemplating returning to the YSR Congress party, Telugu Desam Party leadership has begun efforts to convince him to stay back in the party.

Before leaving for Thailand on a holiday a couple of days ago, TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu himself called up Radha and enquired about the threat to his life, as was claimed by him recently. He also assured that the TDP would stand by him at every step.

On Thursday, Naidu sent senior leaders of his party Gadde Rammohan Rao and Bode Prasad to the residence of Vangaveeti Radha.

They had an hour-long meeting with him and reportedly requested him to stay back in the TDP and that he would get due respect in the party.

They also asked him to take all precautions in the wake of threat perception from his rivals, who allegedly conducted a recce at his house.

The police also found a suspiciously-parked two-wheeler at his residence and are inquiring about the same.

Though the Jagan government offered him security cover to Radha with four security men in two shifts, he rejected the same after keeping silent for a day. This led to the talk that he has developed rethinking on returning to the YSRC.

Naidu also wrote a letter to the DGP saying that stringent action should be taken against the culprits as they held the recce with an intention to kill Vangaveeti Radha.

The latest incident indicated the life threat to the former MLA. It was appalling that the law and order situation was deteriorating under the YSRCP Goonda Raj in Andhra Pradesh.
