TDP to move Centre against council abolition!

Telugu Desam Party members of the Andhra Pradesh state legislative council have decided to knock the doors of the Centre shortly requesting it not to abolish the council as recommended by the YSR Congress party government which got a resolution passed to that effect in the assembly.

Speaking to reporters in the TDP office, party MLCs P Ashok Babu, A S Ramakrishna and B T Naidu said they would soon go to New Delhi to meet all the top leaders in the Centre and apprise them of the undemocratic decision of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Ashok Babu said the TDP MLCs would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, President of India Ramnath Kovind and vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu to explain them the attitude of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“Jagan had requested the Prime Minister to see that legislative council was abolished. We shall try to meet the Prime Minister and tell him that the council was being abolished only with a vengeance against the TDP,” he said.

The MLC alleged that Jagan was finding fault with TDP MLCs for opposing three capital proposal.

“It is our right to oppose the decision. Just because we opposed a particular decision, the chief minister has taken the decision to abolish the democratic systems,” he said.

TDP MLC B T Naidu said that they will issue a privilege motion against Jagan Mohan Reddy in the coming budget sessions for belittling Legislative council chairman.

He found fault with chief minister for saying that the MLCs had come through back door methods. He said that the legislative council will continue till the gazette notification from President of India.
