Tadikonda effect on 40 more YSRC MLAs?

Tadikonda effect on 40 more YSRC MLAs?

The appointment of former minister and senior YSR Congress party leader Dokka Manikya Varaprasad as the additional in-charge of the party in Tadikonda assembly constituency has triggered an uproar within the party, especially among the sitting YSRC MLAs.

Present YSRC MLA from Tadikonda Vundavalli Sridevi strongly resisted the appointment of Dokka as the party in-charge of her constituency, as she feels she might be replaced by him in the next assembly elections.

That is why Sridevi and her followers staged a dharna in front of the residence of former minister Mekathoti Sucharita, suspecting that she might have played a role behind Dokka’s appointment.

This led to a discussion within the party as to whether party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is contemplating similar moves in other constituencies where he got a negative feedback about the sitting MLAs in his independent survey.

The talk is that in at least 40 assembly constituencies, the YSRC chief got a negative feedback on the sitting MLAs and therefore, he might appoint new in-charges in these constituencies indicating that they might replace the sitting MLAs in the next elections.

This has led to a panic-type of situation among the MLAs in several constituencies.

It is learnt Jagan is calling the party presidents of the newly-formed districts and telling them about the intelligence reports and other survey reports on the performance of the MLAs in their respective districts.

Apparently, Jagan is telling them that the MLA would be given some more time to improve their performance, failing which they would be replaced by new faces.

Especially in Tirupati district, Jagan expressed unhappiness over the functioning of some MLAs and warned them.

The Tadikonda episode has by and large sent a strong message to the MLAs that they cannot take the things granted in their constituencies and that if they won’t perform, they would be shown the door.
