Shocking News For TDP Sympathizers

There are one and half years ahead for the General Elections in Andhra Pradesh.

The sympathizers of TDP have been saying that there is a huge anti incumbency wave in the state and it is sure to see the change of government. But the present situation seems to be different.

The Atmakur by-election results send shivers in the spines of TDP leaders.

In 2019, 1,74,509 votes were polled in this constituency while YSRCP's Mekapati Gowtham Reddy bagged 92,758 (53%) and won the seat.

Now in 2022, 1,37,081 votes were polled and the YSRCP candidate Mekapati Vikram Reddy got 1,02,240 votes (75%), recording a steep increase of 22% votes on a whole.

The opponent BJP candidate Bharat Kumar could get a meagre 19,352 votes and the BSP candidate Obulesu got 4904 votes. The remaining 10,583 votes are of Independants and NOTA.

About 37,428 voters (1,74,509-1,37,081) who voted in the 2019 election were kept away from voting in this bypoll. Though hypothetical, let us assume all of them to be  the sympathizers of TDP and Janasena. That way the TDP and Janasena together might have garnered 21% of votes had all of them come to vote. This is really shocking to know.

It is known that Janasena didn't pick up anywhere in the state except in some parts of Konaseema region. But the plight of the TDP is miserable.

The party is seeing the worst phase year by year and it looks that it is sure to see a more insulting result in the coming general elections when compared to that of 2019.
