Shah proposed Pawan as next Andhra CM?

Shah proposed Pawan as next Andhra CM?

Even as mystery continues over the outcome of the meeting between Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and Union health minister Amit Shah in New Delhi last week, various kinds of speculations have started going in air on what they might have discussed.

The general talk is that the BJP has agreed to join the alliance of the TDP and Jana Sena Party in Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming elections but the saffron party wanted more Lok Sabha seats and a considerable number of assembly seats.

A day later, Amit Shah told a television news channel anchor in a live debate that more new friends would be joining the NDA soon, but he wouldn’t disclose the names.

He just laughed it off over the meeting of Naidu with him, followed by YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The latest speculation doing rounds in the media circles is that Amit Shah had put forth a few conditions while welcoming the TDP into the NDA.

One of the main conditions is that if the alliance comes to power in Andhra Pradesh, the chief minister should be Pawan Kalyan, but not Naidu or his son Nara Lokesh.

“This is irrespective of the number of seats any party in the coalition gets. If this assurance comes from the TDP, there is every possibility that the Kapus would vote en masse for coalition,” Shah suggested.

If required, the TDP and Jana Sena could come to an agreement on sharing of power – Pawan would be the chief minister for first six months, followed by Naidu or Nara Lokesh. The BJP will not demand any share in the power.

“Perhaps, that is the reason why Naidu has not been speaking up on his talks with the BJP leadership. He is in a sort of tense situation. He cannot say no to it, as it antagonises Pawan Kalyan. If he agrees, it  will be reduce the TDP to an insignificant party in he state,” sources said.
