Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President YS Sharmila criticized the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government for failing to control the YSRCP cadres during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Palnadu tour on Wednesday, but showing unusual enthusiasm in curbing her movements in the past.
Sharmila told reporters that while placards were raised and massive crowds were mobilised during Jagan's visit, but the police have failed to impose any restrictions on their movement.
She accused Jagan of hypocrisy — meeting betting victims' families while failing to fight for people's real issues.
“Instead of demonstrating muscle power, Jagan should fight for public concerns,” she said. She alleged Jagan was getting all permissions because he’s "Modi’s foster son."
“Congress alone is being restricted despite fighting for the public. We are being placed under house arrest for raising capital city issues or steel plant demands,” Sharmila said.
She demanded answers from TDP chief and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as to why Jagan’s rallies are left unchecked while her public rallies were curbed.
