In less than a week after being nominated as the national general secretary of the BJP, former Union minister Daggubati Purandeshwari tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.
She got admitted to a private hospital with symptoms of Coronavirus last evening and was detected to be positive for the virus.
All these days, she had been confined to home without being active in the party activities due to Coronavirus pandemic.
However, Purandeshwari has suddenly become active after she was appointed as the national general secretary of the BJP, taking part in various activities of the party.
Though she has not begun her tours, she has been meeting hundreds of party leaders and followers every day.
She also gave interview to media after she was elevated to the national executive. Moreover, she was in Delhi for a couple of days, before returning to Hyderabad only on Tuesday.
In the process, she might have contracted the virus from any of the visitors in Hyderabad or Delhi.
She is right now undergoing treatment in Kamineni Hospitals at L B Nagar, where her health is said to be stable and normal.
