Even as senior TDP leader and former minister Prathipati Pulla Rao has been facing the allegations of purchasing assigned lands in Amaravati in benami transactions, his wife Venkayamma has now been booked for alleged land grabbing in Hyderabad.
The Jubilee Hills police on Monday booked a criminal case against Venkayamma for allegedly grabbing 1,519 square yards of plot supposedly belonging to Jubilee Hills Housing Society.
There has been a dispute over this piece of plot in the survey number 853F for quite some time. Prathipati’s wife has been contending that she had purchased this plot and it belonged to her. She even removed the board of Jubilee Hills Housing Society installed in the plot.
On Sunday night, the housing society lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police station alleged that Venkayamma had trespassed into the plot and created a big nuisance.
The society alleged that she and her followers were trying to grab the plot by threatening the society members and asked the police to take action against her.
However, Venkayamma insisted that the land belonged to her, as she purchased it spending lakhs of rupees.
The police booked a case against her based on the complaint lodged by the Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society.
