Naidu Says TDP MLA Asked Him 20 Cr

There was quite an interesting issue came to the light in the Assembly on Friday during the discussion on industrial development and state finances.

The discussion was started by former minister K P Saradhi and when his turn came, YSR Congress MLA from Vinukonda in Palnadu district, Bolla Brahmanaidu, revealed the secret.

He said he had filed the tender for the textile park in Chilakaluripet constituency during the TDP regime from 2014 to 2019.

The tender was given to him, but then local MLA, Prathipati Pullarao had asked him to give him Rs 20 crore as bribe to clear the tender.

He said he had refused to give the money and instead asked the MLA to give him the same Rs 20 crore amount so that he would withdraw his tender.

He also said that the TDP government had asked him to switch loyalties and defect to the TDP to get the tender.

“I did not defect to the TDP. I am very much loyal to Jagan Mohan Reddy,” Brahmanaidu said.

“Finally, with all my experience in industry, I had to give up the tender in the TDP regime,” the MLA said.

He said that the TDP had also attacked his “Tirumala Milk Dairy” during the TDP rule in the state.

However, he said he could withstand those attempts and was able to continue the business.

He thanked Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for the liberal industrial policy in the state because of which industries were coming.
