Naidu saga unending: SC defers verdict again!

Suspense continues over the fate of Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the sensational Rs 371 crore skill development corporation scam.

The Supreme Court on Thursday announced further postponement of its judgement on Naidu’s quash petition questioning the FIR on the pretext that the state government had not obtained the Governor’s permission as per the Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

A bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Bela M Trivedi, which was supposed to deliver its judgement today, said the judgement would be delivered only after Diwali vacations.

Similarly, with regard to Naidu’s anticipatory bail petition in AP Fibernet case, the bench posted the matter to November 30 for further hearing. This case came up before the bench for hearing, but the bench did not take up the argument.

However, the SC bench directed that the Crime Investigation Department shall not arrest Naidu till November 30, when the petition comes up for hearing.

At present, the TDP chief has been on interim bail on medical grounds in the skill development case. He has undergone treatment for his problems at Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and cataract surgery at L V Prasad Eye Hospital.

Right now, he is taking rest at this Hyderabad house, though he is said to be in discussion with his party leaders over the future course of action.
