Naidu not to vacate house despite floods?

Naidu not to vacate house despite floods?

It looks like Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is hell-bent on continuing in his rented residence on the Krishna river front at Vundavalli, though the flood water has almost reached his door step.

The Tadepalli revenue authorities, under whose jurisdiction Naidu’s residence falls, on Saturday issued a notice on the TDP chief, requesting him to vacate the house immediately in view of the Krishna river swelling alarmingly with heavy inflows from upstream.

Tadepalli tehsildar sent an urgent notice to Naidu asking him to vacate the house. As there was none in the house to receive it, the revenue authorities pasted the notice on the compound wall of Naidu.

In the notice, the authorities said since the houses were built on the river banks, there is every possibility that they might get submerged in flood waters.

“The irrigation authorities released 7.50 lakh cusecs of water into the river in the upstream and there is a possibility of releasing another one lakh cusecs today. This might result in complete submergence of the houses,” the notice said.

It suggested that all the houses be vacated completely so as to avoid any loss to lives. This notice is being served only to prevent loss of life, the authorities said.

Interestingly, the revenue department served notices not just to Naidu, but 32 other residence who built their houses on the Krishna river banks.

But the TDP leaders are describing it as a conspiracy. Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh alleged in his twitter message that the authorities were spreading false news on the submergence of their house.

“Water entered only up to the outhouse. And there is a lot of distance between the outhouse and the actual residence,” he pointed out.

Apparently, Naidu does not want to vacate the house come what may. Let us what he will do when the water enters his actual residence!
