Senior actor-producer and former MP Manchu Mohan Babu, who returned to politics after a gap of nearly two decades and joined YSR Congress party, has started direct attack on his once-upon-a-time associate, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.
Mohan Babu directly plunged into action with his campaign for YSR Congress party in Mangalagiri, where Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh is contesting.
Speaking to media later, the senior actor accused Naidu of usurping the TDP from legendary actor and former chief minister N T Rama Rao forcibly.
“I had been with the TDP much before Naidu came into the party. His political foundation was the Congress party and he had even boasted that he would contest against his father-in-law NTR. Later, he made NTR helpless by grabbing the party,” Mohan Babu alleged.
He pointed out that NTR’s sons were quite innocent and were not aware of political conspiracies.
“But Naidu cheated them and used them in dethroning NTR,” he said, adding that the TDP had been able sustain all these years, only because of the dedicated cadre who were continuing in the party out of their affection towards NTR.
Stating that corruption had reached a new high during the Naidu regime, Mohan Babu said nothing was spared, including sand and soil, by the TDP leaders in looting.
“He is hoodwinking the people with false promises,” he alleged and appealed to the people to give a chance to YSRC to herald a golden rule.
