The Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has finally taken back the lands allegedly encroached upon by senior YSR Congress Party leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy in YSR Kadapa district.
According to official reports, the revenue department has issued orders taking back 63 acres of land at C K Dinne mandal, following an inquiry and collecting evidence.
The encroached land was part of the estate belonging to Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s family. Revenue officials took control of 63.72 acres, estimated to be worth around Rs 220 crore, and placed warning boards on the properties.
Officials found that 52 acres out of the seized land were forest land, while the remaining area was classified as irrigation and assigned lands.
Acting on government orders, the district collector had already conducted an inquiry and submitted a report.
It was found that members of the Sajjala family had encroached upon land belonging to the Forest Department, Irrigation Department, and land meant for the poor. This led to the current enforcement actions.
The District Forest Officer of Kadapa was directed by the collector to reclaim 52.42 acres that were under illegal occupation.
Simultaneously, directions were issued to the Galeru-Nagari Sujaya Sravanthi superintendent to seize irrigation department land encroached by Sajjala family.
The CK Dinne Panchayat Office was instructed to take action against unauthorized constructions, including guesthouses, built without proper permissions.
Records show that 137.45 acres are registered under the names of his brother Sajjala Janardhan Reddy, nephew Sandeep Reddy, Sajjala Divakar Reddy, and other family members.
