Of late, popular Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has been meeting several VIPs including industrialists, politicians and celebrities to invite them to the wedding of his younger son Akhil, scheduled to be held at Annapurna Studios on June 6.
On Tuesday, Nagarjuna flew down in a special flight to Vijayawada and met Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his Undavalli residence to personally invite him to the wedding of his son.
Several pictures of the two warmly interacting have gone viral.
A couple of days ago, Nagarjuna, accompanied by his wife Amala and Akhil’s bride-to-be Zainab Ravdjee’s parents, met Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy to invite to the grand celebrations.
So far so good. But according to sources, Nagarjuna did not even make an attempt to meet YSR Congress part president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy during his visit to Vijayawada on Tuesday and invite him to the wedding.
Enquiries revealed that Jagan was very much available in his Tadepalli residence which is just 3-4 kilometres away from Naidu’s residence at Undavalli. It would have taken just 10 minutes for Nagarjuna to go to Jagan’s residence.
This is surprising, as it is believed that Nagarjuna has friendly relations with Jagan and when the latter was in power, he came down to Tadepalli to meet Jagan a couple of times, exclusively to promote his films.
Moreover, Nagarjuna is also a good friend of YSRCP’s Rajya Sabha member and noted lawyer S Niranjan Reddy and they are learnt to have business connections as well. Niranjan Reddy has also good connections with Telugu film industry and produced a few films.
So, it was naturally expected that Nagarjuna would invite Jagan for Akhil’s marriage.
“Had he gone to Jagan’s house, the party would have released the pictures to the media. But it did not happen. So, Nagarjuna conveniently avoided meeting Jagan, for the reasons known only to him,” sources said.
