Mudragada has no right to talk about Kapus: Sana

Mudragada has no right to talk about Kapus: Sana

Telugu Desam Party (TDP)’s Rajya Sabha member Sana Satish on Monday launched a scathing attack on former minister and YSR Congress party leader Mudragada Padmanabha Reddy for raising Kapu bogey referring to the recent attack on the residence of former minister Ambati Rambabu.

Taking to social media platform X, Sana Satish said Mudragadda had lost the moral authority to speak on behalf of the Kapu community from the day he changed his name to Padmanabha Reddy.

Satish criticised Mudragada for allegedly supporting Ambati Rambabu despite the latter’s “derogatory remarks” against chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He questioned how Mudragada and his family would feel if similar insulting comments were directed at them.

He asserted that the arrest of Ambati was lawful and said it was “unforgivable” to link caste identity to defend an accused.

Responding to Mudragada’s remarks comparing Kapus with migrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan, Satish alleged that during the YSRCP regime between 2019 and 2024, Kapus were unable to freely step onto the streets due to what he termed “authoritarian rule”.

He further accused the previous government of weakening the Kapu Corporation and neglecting the community. He also questioned Mudragada’s silence during past controversies, including when Ambati allegedly made disparaging remarks describing Kapus as “lazy and drunkards”.

He accused the YSRCP of using Kapu leaders as a vote bank and urged Mudragada to refrain from caste-based politics and “fake propaganda”. The TDP MP reiterated that the current government would continue to work for the development of the Kapu community.

He asserted that the future of Kapus lay with the TDP and demanded an apology from YSRCP leaders for allegedly insulting Kapus.
