Lokesh warns of legal action against YSRCP

Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh education minister Nara Lokesh on Friday warned of a strong legal action against the YSR Congress party for making false allegations against him in connection with the implementation of Thalliki Vandanam scheme.

Lokesh was reacting to a comment posted on the YSRCP’s official social media handle that Rs 2,000 deducted from the amount of Rs 15,000 being given to mothers under Thalliki Vandanam scheme was going into his own pocket.

“During the last elections, he has promised to credit the entire amount of Rs 15,000 into the accounts of mothers under Thalliki Vandanam scheme. Now this “psycho Nara Lokesh” is looting Rs 2,000 from their accounts and giving only Rs 13,000 to the mothers. The remaining amount is going into the pockets of Nara Lokesh. Is the money looted from liquor and sand contracts not enough, Nara Lokesh? Why is this greed to grab the money being given to mothers?” the YSRCP said in the post on social media.

Responding to allegations, Lokesh said the opposition had tweeted that Rs 2,000 was deposited into his bank account.

“I’m giving them 24 hours — they must prove it. If not, there will be serious consequences, and I will take legal action,” he warned.

The minister described YSRCP as a party that repeats lies a hundred times to make them seem true.

“In the 2019 elections, Jagan murdered his own uncle and blamed it on Chandrababu. We couldn’t counter it effectively back then, so people believed it. Now, his own sister Sharmila is revealing what actually happened,” he said.

Lokesh said he had read the tweet claiming Rs 2,000 had gone into his pocket.

“If they can’t prove this lie, I will take action against YSRCP,” Lokesh warned.
