Lokesh rubbishes YSRCP talk on chopper purchase

For the last two years, the opposition YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh has been making allegations that the ruling coalition government in Andhra Pradesh led by Telugu Desam Party had bought a new helicopter exclusively for Nara Lokesh, son of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and state IT minister.

The YSRCP alleged that the Naidu government had spent Rs 172 crore of public money to purchase a new H160 helicopter for Lokesh.

The YSRCP leaders claim the chopper was acquired for Lokesh’s personal travel and leisure.

Lokesh strongly refuted the allegations in a post on social media platform X. He shared a screenshot of the YSRCP’s social media propaganda that included the caption, “coming soon,” suggesting the helicopter would be operational shortly.

Lokesh hit back sharply, stating: “I don’t have stolen money like you to purchase a helicopter, Mr. Jagan Reddy! Even after the people gave you just 11 seats, your lies continue. Stop spreading fake news.”

By doing so, Lokesh made it clear that the claims were entirely false. His rebuttal prompted widespread attention, and now it remains to be seen how YSRCP leaders respond to his clarification and whether they will produce any evidence.
