Kesineni brothers in bitter political war

The bitter battle between Kesineni brothers – Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani and Kesineni Shivnath alias Chinni – is turning out to be a major headache for Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Nani, who is presently a Lok Sabha member of TDP from Vijayawada, has a family dispute with his own brother, is suspecting that Naidu is encouraging his younger brother Kesineni Chinni, who has been into real estate activity in Hyderabad, and might replace him with Chinni in the next parliament elections.

Though both Nani and Chinni have property disputes, but they never surfaced so openly. When the Vijayawada MP started suspecting that Chinni is nurturing political ambitions, he has been making all efforts to stall the attempts of his brother.

On Wednesday, Nani lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad and Vijayawada police that his brother Chinni has been moving in his vehicle (TS0SW7777) with fake MP sticker, misusing his name.

He alleged that Chinni might indulge in anti-social activities by misusing his MP sticker on the vehicle.

The vehicle is registered in the name of Chinni’s wife Kesineni Janaki Lakshmi and the Madhapur police booked a case against him during a search two days ago. The case is under investigation.

Chinni told reporters that it was unfortunate that Nani was dragging his family into a petty issue.

“Let the police inquire about the vehicle and the sticker. They took my vehicle to the police commissionerate for investigation,” he said.

Stating that he was a small time worker of the TDP, Chinni said he had no enmity with his elder brother Nani.

“I don’t have any desire to become an MP nor has I asked for the party ticket. Whatever Naidu will take I shall abide by it. Our whole aim is to see that Naidu will become the chief minister again,” he said.

Chinni said as a party activist, he wanted to celebrate the birth centenary year of N T Rama Rao at Autonagar in Vijayawada.

“But it was dragged into unnecessary disputes. I don’t know how these complaints against me have surfaced stating that I am threatening traders for the last two months,” he said.

He also claimed that there was no MP sticker on his car and the police had given him a clean chit.

“The complaint against me by Nani is purely personal and it has nothing to do with party politics,” Chinni said.
