JD changes mind, to contest for assembly!

Former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) V V Lakshminarayana, who recently floated Jai Bharat Party, has changed his decision to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Visakhapatnam parliamentary constituency in Andhra Pradesh.

On Friday, JD announced that he would be contesting the state assembly elections from Visakhapanam (north) assembly constituency. He, however, did not mention any specific reasons why he has changed his mind.

At the same time, JD did not clearly say whether he would also contest the Lok Sabha elections from Visakhapatnam. In fact, he has established his party office in Visakhapatnam and has been campaigning for Lok Sabha seat.

Maybe, JD thought he would stand better chances of winning the assembly seat because he can take on BJP candidate and former MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju in Visakhapatnam (north) constituency.

In Lok Sabha elections, he would have to face a bigger battle with TDP candidate M Bharat and YSR Congress party candidate Botsa Jhansi, which is obviously a difficult task. Especially in the wake of the BJP-Jana Sena-TDP alliance, new parties have little chance.

By the way, the Election Commission has allotted torch light symbol for Lakshminarayana’s party as a common symbol for his party candidates.
