YSR Congress Party chief and former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is meticulously reviewing the performance of every party leader.
His primary focus is on whether Assembly constituency coordinators and MLAs are effectively implementing party programmes at the grassroots level, in line with his directives.
Jagan is particularly keen on the "Recall Chandrababu Manifesto" campaign.
He is closely tracking whether MLAs and the 164 constituency coordinators are conducting door-to-door outreach, updating the public on the implementation of government promises, highlighting both fulfilled commitments and unfulfilled assurances and whether they are engaging sincerely or merely carrying out the exercise for formality’s sake.
He is sourcing feedback through various channels to evaluate the seriousness with which his instructions are being followed.
Jagan is determined to identify those leaders who are genuinely committed to mobilising public sentiment against the ruling coalition, as opposed to those who are shirking responsibilities or putting on an act. He is reportedly considering sidelining non-performing leaders.
Some leaders are believed to be treating party activities casually, assuming that anti-incumbency will secure them electoral success regardless of their involvement.
However, sources within the party suggest that Jagan intends to curb this complacency.
According to senior leaders, he will summon each MLA and constituency coordinator to submit a year-wise progress report.
Those who underperform may be given a final opportunity to improve, failing which, they are likely to be replaced.
