YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has called for the extended executive committee of the party at the YSRCP central office, Tadepalli on Wednesday.
According to a party release, it is going to be an important meeting of all the party leaders, including MLAs, MLCs, parliamentary and assembly constituency coordinators, parliamentary constituency observers, district party presidents, and regional coordinators.
It said the meeting would have a comprehensive discussion on key political developments.
It is expected to focus on the failures of the TDP-led coalition during its one year in power, especially its inability to fulfil major pre-election promises such as the Super Six and Super Seven schemes.
The party leaders will also discuss the ongoing political attacks and conspiracies being orchestrated against YSRCP leaders, activists, and supporters.
And Jagan is likely to issue clear directions on how to take these issues to the people and expose the government's failures at every level.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Jagan is holding such a meeting. He held quite a few meetings in the last one year, after the YSRCP lost power in the state.
At every meeting, Jagan has been calling upon the party leaders to reach out to the people and campaign to highlight the failures of the government.
But subsequently, there was no action plan and Jagan himself would withdraw into a shell, at his Bengaluru palace.
The party leaders have been confining themselves to addressing press conferences and issuing statements on social media platforms.
At the ground-level, there was no plan of action. Only Jagan would come out now and then, but it is confined mostly to road shows, in order to prove that he is still enjoying the craze among the people. But there has been no attempt to regain the lost faith of the people.
It remains to be seen whether Jagan will provide any roadmap for the party for the coming years, at least at the Wednesday’s meeting.
