Jagan to begin state-wide tours from December

Jagan to begin state-wide tours from December

All these days, there has been an allegation that YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been confined to the four walls of his camp office at Tadepalli and running administration from there.

One reason for this is that since he is new to the administration, Jagan has chosen to spend most of the time in interacting with the officials from the camp office and monitoring the implementation of his welfare schemes.

Second reason is the Coronavirus pandemic, which has been plaguing the state since March 2020, in less than nine months of his coming to power. This has become a hurdle for Jagan to travel extensively among the people. Yet, he went out of Tadepalli a few times on official functions.

Now that the pandemic is subsiding to a large extent, Jagan has decided to take his administration to the people directly. He told the officials during the Spandana programme on Wednesday that he would be travelling extensively across the state from December.

The chief minister hinted that he would like to conduct tours once in a week, covering all the assembly constituencies one after the other, to know the ground realities on the implementation of welfare and developmental schemes.

He declared that he would visit at least four village secretariats every week as part of his tours. Not just the chief minister, all the district collectors, joint collectors and MLAs would also be made to tour the villages and mandals to oversee the implementation of the schemes.

Jagan also announced a Citizen Outreach programme, starting with September 24 and 25, to explain to the people the schemes being implemented by the government.

“Hereafter, the Citizen Outreach programme would be taken up every last Friday and Saturday every month,” he said.
