Jagan Slams Rahul's Silence on AP Vote Scam

YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s silence on alleged large-scale vote tampering in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to the media, Jagan alleged that during the recent elections in the state, the total votes increased by 12.5% between polling day and counting day - an unexplained rise of around 48 lakh votes.

“Why is Rahul Gandhi not talking about this?” Jagan asked.

He claimed that Rahul Gandhi is in constant touch with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu through Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, which is why he avoids commenting on AP’s electoral irregularities.

The YSRCP chief also targeted Manickam Tagore, the AICC in-charge for Andhra Pradesh, for not making any statements against Chandrababu Naidu.

“He has nothing to say about Chandrababu, but he keeps talking about me,” Jagan remarked.

Highlighting alleged scams in the state, Jagan accused the TDP government of massive corruption in the Amaravati capital city project as well as irregularities in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

“There are many scams happening in Andhra Pradesh, yet the Congress chooses to remain silent,” he said.

Jagan concluded by questioning the political understanding between Congress and TDP leaders, saying their mutual silence on each other’s controversies was evidence of a backdoor arrangement.
